Since I'm an Ipod user, I'll want to put stuff on my Ipod just like anyone else. Sometimes the little videos on YouTube or GoogleVideo maybe what I want, becuase they have music videos on their often.
Greasemonkey is the way to go if you are using FireFox 1.5 or above (and you should be, let me tell you!)
Then you can add scripts to greasemonkey that when you are on those site, you get a link you can click to download the video as a FLV
You then find whatever tools you are comfortable with to convert FLV to IPOD (MP4)
I do a two step process.....FLV to AVI then AVI to MP4
