Vicarious Moses
I'm a Science teacher in ANONYMOUS ISD, north of Houston, Texas. I made a career switch and went through an Alternative Certification Program and began teaching in fall of 2003. I spent the 2005-2006 school year doing one year of extreme professional development. I was also one of 3 US teachers to visit Tajikistan in the Spring of '06. For the 10-11 school year I'm making the transition back to High School.

MP5 Collection - in pictures
SD (folding adjustable stock)
NAVY Special (faux suppressor and Navy lower grip with full auto markings, standard black buttstock)
Standard (with wood added)
AK Bullpup
Back in February I ordered a Bullpup kit from Center Balanced Rifles (www.cbrps.com) and then they make them then ship. I got mine last Friday and stayed up until I finished it. Mine was not a perfect fit, so some between 60-120 minutes with dremel tool - grind - check fit - repeat over and over...
I finished and already had a sight I purchased this week ready. The inside was a Romanian WASR10 I had prepurchased for this project.
A Bullpup is a shorted rifle platform where the trigger is moved forward, usually near center and no buttstock is used, just and end put on to make legal minimum length.

Major project completion
Using wood furniture set from a G3, I modified as needed to fit my latest (and final) MP5 styled GSG-522. The wood set was under $25, the time with the dremel tool-priceless!

AK-47 Build Project - Lil' Red
Majority of my parts came in from Carolina Shooters Supply. Great company, good prices. I disassembled the rifle completely, drilled and dremeled out 5 rivets, two were a snap, the other three were a bear!
After removing factory trigger guard and plate, I sanded and painted the area.
Watched videos from Carolina Shooters Supply website and successful y reassembled into a AK-47. Just waiting on bullet guide and muzzle brake.
Refinishing in Russian Red a PSL DRAGUNOV butt-stock.
Will watch for front end furniture from gun show, so I can be on quest for something!
Really excited, besides the Ruger 10/22s, majority of my gunsmithing has been external. I tore this thing apart and replaced and relocated the trigger group, a very rewarding experience. They say once you've done one, the rest are a piece of cake.
Now I can take the pulled factory trigger group, do a TRIGGER JOB on it, and try it out on one of my unmodified guns. If I mess up, okay, it was a spare! Time for YouTube research.

Current Project
I so enjoy working with my guns and taking a "Plain Jane" and turning into a "Sultry Svetlana"
My current project will be taking a Saiga IZ-332, which is a 7.62x39 rifle with AK front grips already installed, and converting into a full blown AK.
Step Zero - Order conversion kit and AK magazines
First step - Complete
Due to import restrictions, a cover is spot welded over the threaded barrel. I got my dremel tool and was as careful as could be, and removed the cover and smoothed out welds. Used black model paint to cover and nicks I did on the painted barrel.
Step two - for a stock, since I'm a Dragonuv type guy, I'm going to install a PSL stock, so I stained it my dark Russian Red, and put the first coat of Boiled Linseed Oil on it and left it in the sun to dry. I'll probably do a coat a day for a few days.
Step three - having acquired the rifle I was able to verify the trunion was round bottom, so I can order the appropriate bullet guide and since ordering, get classic AK74 (not 47) muzzle brake.
Now it just wait for stuff to arrive!

It will look like this, reddish wood, muzzle brake on front.
