I wore a yellow shirt during our day in Prague, and I was the only person I ever saw wearing a yellow shirt. They all knew something I didn't. You look like a giant flower to a local beetle. They were tiny beetles, but we were constantly knocking them off my shirt the whole day while outdoors, it was funny and annoying at the same time. I do the front and sleeves, Sylvia did the rear.
We had a full day, visited the church and attend the noon mass, then walked the Charles bridge, Old Town Square, Old Jewish section and cemetery, and explored quite a few shops and even found the mall that advertised itself saying it had 210 stores. It is possible it either had 5 or 6 levels. We had an ordeal making it back to hotel because Sylvia decided she could walk anymore, so that put pressure on my to find the simplest, most efficient way to hotel, and everytime I am under that pressure I always pick the wrong direction first, aggregating the situation and it just spirals out of control, and it becomes whatever you call the opposite of a vacation.
Second day were visited the National Museum and had a really nice time. The exhibits were nice and the building itself was impressive (but built before air conditioning was invented).
Back to hotel to grab luggage. We got the hotel through Travelocity.com for $208 for two nights. The placard in the lobby had our room listed at $275 per night - we got a deal! All downhill walk to train station. Apparently no advantage to arriving very early to station, you just sit there. We arrived near 4 for a 6:30 overnighter.
The overnighter was an ordeal at loading, again the pressure thing and I got us on the wrong car (they are all connected and this is rectifiable), so I jump off to find right one and Sylvia freaks out when the real people show up, so when I return to get our stuff and move us to right cabin, it a stress fest, and we're using all the words you don't use around children. So were not friends again until next morning.
We stop in Cologne Germany to change trains and luckily it on the exact same platform. We got 1st class tickets, so it's really nice. As usual, she sleeps through the majority of the travel, by the windows my camera and I could be using, last night I had the top bunk so no window.
We'll be arriving in Paris around 11am and leave next day at 9:15 for London. That's where the vacation really begins!
