Travel Update

Returned July 3rd from Europe.

We actually ended up doing Amsterdam to Berlin to Paris to London, about 3 days in each town.

I left at Midnight to drive 600 miles to Fort Davis. I could have left later had I known it was 80 mph on I-10 as the legal speed limit. I wanted to have enough time to make it there by 3pm, but I made it quite early.

Be up here through the 10th at an "Age of the Milkyway" workshop.

Isn't it beautiful out there? I went last summer and loved it. I was the dumb Fresh Air Fund kid looking up at the sky, "Gee, what are are those bright things?" My poor partner! I did learn a lot, though.

And even though I was told that I had to take down the posters that they gave me by my idiot dept, the kids asked me about them all the time. Even if our kids don't take an actual astronomy (or astrology as one of my esteemed colleagues says) course, they need to know that there is so much more out there!

Hope you're having fun. I'll be in Texas starting tomorrow (Wednesday the 11th through early morning on Monday the 16th). I'll be flying and in Caldwell, so I'm not sure what the probability/possibilities of me seeing you are, but I thought I would let you know.
