Good classic come to the board and write the answer stuff. Since it is a bunch of them, no one feels like they are on the spot! Each student was asked if they had an answer to the problem they were assigned first, so they were confident about which one they had to do.

Roller Coaster lab using CPO equipment. Lab redesigned by me from one based on CPO book. Our freshman need to be guided heavily or they will sit there forever not knowing what to do! Lab teaches relation of Kinetic Energy and Potential Energy.
Speaking of freshman, I got two new ones this week, in two different of my IPC classes, each from a different school. I asked each one, in front of their repecteive classes "How many labs had you done in your IPC class so far this year".
Each student replied none. The second student said they had a brand new teacher who had no classroom control, said he even cried. He quit after a month, so they've had a sub ever since then, so they have done nothing since the first month!
That is a very sad state of affairs.

I don't think I could last without talking. I even get bored when they are "too quiet". That doesn't happen very often though. I can't believe you have chalkboards! Even Kate's ski lodge has a white board. I always sent kids up there to do problems in chem. The one thing I don't like about the Smart Board is that only one person can use it at a time.
