Yesterday was torture

First day of Master Teacher Academy. Speaker was a principle from Colorado, though he may be great at implementing the program, he's not so hot at presenting.
Rule #1 of Powerpoint- if your presentation is 84 slides - thats too many!

Rule #2 of Powerpoint- try to keep your slides to under 30 words per slide

Rule #3 of Powerpoint- if you have adults, don't read WORD FOR WORD to them!

Rule #4 of Powerpoint- don't mix multiple transitions just to mix multiple transitions!

Rule #5 of Powerpoint- if you have a blueish background, don't use a blueish font anywhere! Everyone should know by now that yellow/blue is the desired combination!

Rule #6 of Powerpoint- if the presenter doesn't have FUN, no one will!

Today is BRAIN BASED LEARNING. Thats good, I think most of my students were using their foot or liver.

Yesterday a small group of us went to 59 Diner, all the firsttimers enjoyed their plates. Today General Joes is on the menu.

No movies last night, but watched the first 2 1/2 episodes of Scrubs, first season. 22 minutes each without commercials. Well, got to get ready for 'class'.

Sorry. I hate it when people can't present well. I agree with Andy's moto. If you are just going to read all your slides to us, just print it out and hand it to us. We can read it ourselves. Hope your day isn't too miserable.

Love you.
