Current Project

I so enjoy working with my guns and taking a "Plain Jane" and turning into a "Sultry Svetlana"

My current project will be taking a Saiga IZ-332, which is a 7.62x39 rifle with AK front grips already installed, and converting into a full blown AK.

Step Zero - Order conversion kit and AK magazines

First step - Complete
Due to import restrictions, a cover is spot welded over the threaded barrel. I got my dremel tool and was as careful as could be, and removed the cover and smoothed out welds. Used black model paint to cover and nicks I did on the painted barrel.

Step two - for a stock, since I'm a Dragonuv type guy, I'm going to install a PSL stock, so I stained it my dark Russian Red, and put the first coat of Boiled Linseed Oil on it and left it in the sun to dry. I'll probably do a coat a day for a few days.

Step three - having acquired the rifle I was able to verify the trunion was round bottom, so I can order the appropriate bullet guide and since ordering, get classic AK74 (not 47) muzzle brake.

Now it just wait for stuff to arrive!

It will look like this, reddish wood, muzzle brake on front.
