I have to vent

I been out of the class room for three weeks in a row, and I return tomorrow. One week was short because of Thanksgiving, but it still three weeks, which is one grading period, a Progress Report.

I have to say that for those three weeks my students learned nothing!

Did my Law and Justice community make sure that my kids had learning opportunities in my class room? NO, we aren't setup that way!

Did the Science Department Head step in and make sure that my kids had learning opportunities in my class room? NO, though could have

Did the Chemistry Team (who the school encourage that everyone teach the same thing at hte same time) take my two chem classes under their wing and make sure that my kids had learning opportunities in my class room? NO

Did any IPC teacher step up and provide assignments for my four classes of IPC to make sure that my kids had learning opportunities in my class room? NO

Did the school improve facilitators make sure my students were learning what they need to pass TAKS during those 3 weeks? NO

Did the school make sure the subs had something to do besides babysit, to make sure that my kids had learning opportunities in my class room? NO

Did any of the students take it upon themselves to email me or call me to ask what they should be doing in the textbook, so they aren't sitting there trying to figure out how to entertain themselves? NO

Did any parent contact the school to complain "how is my child going to have the opportunity to raise his/her grade in science (since majority are D and below at last grading period) when they are not doing anything in science class? NO

SO, it appears to me, that I am the ONLY person who makes a ANY effort to make sure that my kids have learning opportunities in my class room!

Upon my return, if any of the above assumption prove to be other than my guess, I'll update!
