I just witnessed some of the best teaching I have seen since I arrived at Klein Forest!
The teacher was Mr. Moses. He was relying on so many types of intelligence that one would almost think he attended Ms. Gusman's ESL workshop.
He used linguistic, logical, spatial, kinesthetic, intrapersonal, and interpersonal teaching strategies. The students were so rhythmic in their responses that I would have to give him credit for employing musical intelligence, too. Also, he used naturalist intelligence as the students conducted experiments. (I think he was even break-dancing. Joking, but he did everything possible to teach his students!) EVERY TYPE OF INTELLIGENCE WAS USED IN THIS CLASS!
Just watching Mr. Moses help the kids focus on the introductory procedures was enlightening. All but 1 student knew the answers, and she was absent the day before. I heard her ask, "Did y'all learn this yesterday," and I was truly amazed that this knowledge had not been long-term. I watched the ESL students actively participate along with the native born.
Plus, Mr. Moses has bonded with his students. It was an extreme pleasure seeing Mr. Moses and his students in action.
