My Evolution through MUSIC

My 'Dubstep post' made me start thinking of my musical history.

I think most people get stuck in the musical era they went to high school, maybe they listen to the radio more at that stage.

I know I grew up with music in the house and I remember having little 9V transistor radios around the 2nd grade.

When I was born, the #1 song was
The first ALBUM I every got for my record player was

The album I loved to borrow from my parents collection was
I liked the music as much as the cover....

In sixth grade I learned about this album in music class and have always owned a copy

The famous 'solo' album I chose from the 4 was

One of the most amazing concerts I went to (in the Summit) went with this albums release. There was a spaceship that opened up and they were inside!

I was there when MTV started...and saw their first video

The Buggles Video Killed The Radio Star by rvdgu2006

In 1984 I fell in love with this CD when Steve Leushner played it for me, because of this song (though I like EVERY song on it.

Then the next major influence who I got to see live in a very small intimate club

Some people call this a One Hit Wonder, but I had his first five albums and I loved them

I was a big fan of - regardless of hair style

Along the way, from the beginning I was a Madonna fan, and have everything she's put out!

One of my favorite vids

I was a Duran Duran fan since I saw them on MTV

Another group I have been with since their first album. I remember hearing Planet Claire on some late night new music show on 101 KLOL. I danced to Rock Lobster at prom and years later this was the first concert I took Chris and Ashley to at Astroworld - The B-52s

The one everyone knows...

Without going into too many details, when Sylvia and I were dating, we made a road trip to North Carolina, and she woke up when I was filling the gas tank and was dancing to this song - I think at that point she knew she wanted to marry me

At some point I fell in love with:

Shakira

Missy Elliot

Gwen Stefani

Fergie

I heard a cool song in the movie

and found out it was by Crystal Method - so I started getting all their stuff

 DJs starting getting my radar...

Fatboy Slim

Daft Punk

...but world music also found its way to me...

more coming......
