We have recently gone HD 1080p capable and have a nice setup now. I had always thought Blu Ray was advertising hype, until I tried it at home.
I'm going to post about HD titles (720p or 1080p) we have watched and tell you if they are worth the viewing, as sometimes you may be watching something you've seen before.
Batman Dark Knight - If you saw the Imax version, it similar in that some parts are higher def than others. So parts are letterbox and then full screen. Borrow or rent this one!
Bourne Trilogy - Great quality and very easy to watch the whole thing over a weekend
Ip Man - Amazing martial arts recent foreign film from China (I believe), watched 720p and great!
Transformers 1080p - I had to do two upgrades to my PC to view this correctly - absolutely amazing experience. I would say I had a better than theater experience!
