Its been misting and in the low 40's all weekend. Stayed in a lot, watched videos. We finished New World, that movie must have been made for some award catagory, because it wasn't a normal movie, very art house. We finally watched Wedding Crashers, that was a hoot.
I recently acquired a Compaq Armada 1750 laptop. It was last used in 2000, guess it was bought new in 98 or 99. It was running Windows 95. I atleast brought that up to Win98SE. Well, I think it had been used for one year by one person, and then put inthe closet. Its like new, just had to clean some old coffee or soda of the keyboard. This machine is 366 Megahertz (slow), 64 Megabytes Ram (not very much) and a 4 Gigabyte Hard drive (not a ton of space). But it has a serial port and USB. This is my new dedicated Telescope computer. It will run the lower end Astronomy software and talk to my telescope just fine. Not as pretty as Starry Night, but gets the job done! I put some DEEP SPACE stickers on it (glow in the dark ones) because I have never put stickers on my laptops before! I'm watching on Ebay for cheaper memory to upgrade that section.
Speaking of Ebay, can you believe I got an Astronomy book from the year 1900, and the total with shipping was under $5! Yeah, pretty wild huh!
I painted the under $5 telescope black, looks nice, will post pics this evening. Waiting for McKenzie to visit again so we can put the final touch on, her Solar System Glow In the Dark stickers and stars!
Going to start building my 5 inch [130mm] Dobsonian telescope conversion. Going to use the tube from my original Meade 2130 that they said to through away because of shipping damage. Can't put a beauty like that in the trash, remember, I just got one out of the trash!
I don't own tools, really, so this will be an interesting effort!
Double Dave's Pizza for lunch today. Craving I got since seeing them yesterday.
Pizza is my Achilles' Heel.
Let's see, friends are enjoying OVERHEARDINNEWYORK.COM. There are links to an OFFICE version onthe site too!
Well, off in search of Pizza.
