Seen all my kids that week - that was good.
Son is getting married, cause he got engaged. He had a birthday in January, then Mom, then me and then my Grandma.
Got a promotion in January, when I return to Sam Houston HS next year I won't be just a science teacher, I'll be head of the science department. I think that pretty good for my short career as a teacher.

Got into astronomy. Interest had been peaked since visit to McDonald Observatory in Ft Davis and attending my first Star Party. I then tracked down STARRY NIGHT software on the PC, what fun. And then I found out, with the right computerized telescope, you can make the software interact with it.
I've invested in eyepieces because they are good on any scope I upgrade to in my future. I'm actually up to 4 telescopes already, accidently. Actually found one in the trash and refurbishing and rebuilding it. Don't know who will be the actually owner of that one.
One day I'll have to tell you about the Walmart trick I learned, but that another time, you have to ask me in person, I really don't want to put it in print!
Monday nights I do a statistics course at University of Houston.

Thursday night I do 3 hours at Rice University on Nanotechnology.

These courses will last until summer.
I applied for a grant from Fund For Teachers, and if I get it I'll be doing a multicity Italian tour in July to study the works of Renaissance scientist such as Galileo and Da Vinci. Fingers crossed.
See ya!

I didn't know you actually got the promotion. Congrats!
Moses, Danielle told me about the promotion and I can't tell you how pleased I am! Good for you. And very, very good for Sam!
Good luck on the Fund for Teachers-- that sounds fabulous! We want to do something very much like that sometime soon-- Pompeii, Pisa, etc. One of my colleagues at Westbury did a tour of Newton and Einstein's haunts in Europe this past summer and loved it.
